NICKEL SILVER CONTINUES HIS INCREDIBLE RUN - 06 February 2010
Nickel Silver secured yet another victory in the incredible run of form that he has shown since the beginning of 2009.
Martin Barber's gelding started last year as a maiden having run 13 times. At that point he was rated just 60.
Just over a year later, he has run a further 19 times, winning 7 times with 2 seconds and 4 third places. His latest victory, in the feature race at Lingfield came of a handicap mark of 92!
Well drawn, in a relatively small field, Nickel Silver was well away and dominated the race. Leading into the bend, he was never headed.
This victory took his owner, Martin Barber, onto the heels of the likes of Prince Khallid Abdulla and Godolphin in the All Weather owners championship and Hambleton House into third place in the All Weather trainers championship with winnings of over £100,000.
