EXCEL BOLT IS KING OF THE CASTLE - 05 June 2010
Excel Bolt took the 'Edinburgh Castle Conditions Stakes', one of the leading early season trials for 2-y-o's, at Musselburgh on Saturday.
Made the odds on favourite for the race following his impressive debut over course and distance, Excel Bolt lead the field for much of the 5 furlong trip. When Cocktail Charlie challenged him a furlong from home it looked like he might be in trouble but Excel Bolt dug deep to regain the lead with the leading pair clear of the rest of their rivals.
The plan for Excel Bolt now involves a trip to Royal Ascot for the Norfolk Stakes.
