CHUSHKA OFF THE MARK IN STYLE - 17 July 2010
Chushka broke her maiden tag in style when running away with the 'Mike Boon Memorial Maiden Handicap' over 6f at Ripon.
Drawn wide, Paul Mulrennan wasted no time in working her accross to the rail and she travelled extremely well. Still firmly on the bridle two furlongs from home, all her rivals were hard at work and when Paul asked her to go and win her race she did so comfortably having 3 1/2 lengths to spare at the line despite being eased down.
Chushka has shown this ability in defeat previously so it was pleasing to see her doing so in victory, particularly for owners Mike and Tina Bullock of Crossfields Racing who were there to collect the trophy and enjoy a well deserved glass of champagne.
